A-1 CELEBRATES 49 YEARS AND BEGINS COUNTDOWN TO 50
FORT PIERCE, FLA., – September 18, 2026 – Employee-owned Employee-owned A-1 Global Holdings, Inc. (“A-1”), a leading manufacturer of structural building components in the Southeastern United States, today celebrates 49 years in business and begins the countdown to its 50th anniversary. Founded on September 18, 1977, A-1 began with seven temporary workers and a roughly 500-square-foot office. Today, the Company operates advanced manufacturing facilities in Fort Pierce, Florida, and Bainbridge, Georgia, across more than 100 acres.
“Forty-nine years ago, today I opened the gates on a two-acre parcel in Mangonia Park, Riviera Beach, and A-1 came to life,” said John Herring, Founder and CEO. “Never could I have envisioned the path, the hurdles, the wins and challenges that were ahead. I want to thank everyone and say personally how much I appreciate and value you all.”
As A-1 enters its 50th year, the Company remains focused on its long-term vision to build a 100-year Company. A-1 continues to invest in its people, training, facilities, machinery, automation and off-site manufacturing capabilities. These investments support what builders increasingly need: consistent quality, greater efficiency, less waste, reduced field labor and shorter build times.
In his anniversary message to employees, Herring emphasized training, education, dedication and the continued use of technology to improve every day. He also reaffirmed the importance of hiring great people and reinvesting in A-1’s facilities, machinery and future.
